Should You Use a Venue Coordinator, Wedding Planner, or a Day of Coordinator
I often get asked what is the difference in a Venue Coordinator, Wedding Planner, and a Day of Coordinator. Below, I have listed out a short description of what you can expect from each professional.
Venue Coordinator Role
A Venue Coordinator works specifically for the venue and only handles details pertaining to the venue itself!
|1| They are responsible for everything that comes with your venue.
|2| They make sure that your vendors know where and when they’re supposed to be at the venue.
|3| Lastly, they ensure that the vendors and your guest abide by all the rules and regulations of the venue.
Wedding Planner Role
Wedding planners generally help with all of the planning and coordinating leading up to the day of the wedding.
|1| Full-service planners are with couples from the start and until the day ends.
|2| Your wedding planner gives recommendations on vendors, they are the main point of contact between you and your vendors.
|3| Also, they schedule and attend your meetings with your vendors and review contracts.
|4| The wedding planner is in charge of establishing your timeline for your special day that includes details from the time that the bride starts her day to the moment that the doors close.
|5| As a wedding planner, they know everything that is happening with every single person involved in the day.
|6| A wedding planner will also help plan and design your ceremony plus your reception.
|7| They’ll choose assist your in choosing wedding themes, your colors, wedding flowers, down to the linens, table set-up and design.
Day of Coordinator Role
Your Day of Coordinator Role is a couple’s best friend on their wedding day.
|1| While the couple prepares for, and enjoys, the day, it’s the coordinator’s role to make sure everything goes according to plan.
|2| They focus on everything from making sure everyone is seated and ready for the ceremony to the last dance at the reception.
|3| If you get stressed out easily, I would highly recommend that you get a wedding planner, if not a full wedding planner than consider a day of coordinator.
Please read this statement closely and safe yourself so much grief, “It is not realistic to ask your friend or family member to try to keep you on track on your wedding day”.
