Figuring Out Your Budget for Your Wedding
The first place to start when planning your wedding is to figure out your budget. You need to know what you and you're fiancée’ can afford and what anyone who is financially contributing to the event is willing to pay.
Be realistic with your budget, an average wedding can cost you approximately $25,000.00. Most couples are not prepared for the price tag that comes with a beautiful wedding.
Your venue is one of the most expensive parts of your wedding, but they can also be the hardest part of the process to get booked if you do not start well in advance. I recommend that any venue you look at that you get a copy of their contract, a price sheet, and that you clearly understand what you are getting with your rental. Too many time venues will start at a base price and then start adding items on, at our venue it is one price and our contracts cover exactly what you receive, there are not hidden cost.
Your budget will also determine the size of your wedding party, and if you can only afford a modest affair, choosing who will be invited can be tough. Having your closest friends and family there is a must, but when it comes to inviting colleagues, extended family, or friends that you might only see occasionally, don’t feel pressured to add them to the guest list. If you have the budget to spend on more people, that’s great, but if not, only the VIPs in your life should get an invite.
